About the Scholarships

The Louisa Forward Foundation is proud to offer two $1,000 scholarships annually to Louisa County High School graduating seniors pursuing higher education or trade certification in business-related fields.

Bright Future Scholarship

For students attending any accredited college, university, or trade school.

Pathway to PVCC Scholarship

For students enrolling at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) in a business or industry-related program.

What’s Required

To apply, you must:

  • Be a Louisa County High School senior graduating in 2025
  • Have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Submit a complete application online with:
    • Application Form
    • Transcript (dated no later than Dec. 31, 2024)
    • Resume of school, work, and community activities
    • One essay based on the required prompt (max 250 words)

Deadline: April 13, 2026 at 3:30 PM.

Essay Question (Required)

Write a 250-word essay answering the following:

How will your education and career path help contribute to Louisa County’s economy, workforce, or business community? Describe your future goals and how this scholarship will support your journey.

Resume Guidelines

Your resume should include school, work, and community experiences. The goal is to show responsibility, initiative, and community involvement. Even if you haven’t had a formal job, you can list:

  • Clubs, sports, and leadership roles
  • Volunteer work at school, church, or in the community
  • CTE programs or internships
  • Informal work like babysitting, mowing lawns, or helping in a family business

For each activity, include:

  • What you did
  • Where
  • When (example: Sept–Dec 2024)
  • How many hours per week (estimate is okay)
