Mission Statement

The Louisa Forward Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to support the economic, education and community development programs implemented by the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce.

Purpose & Programs

To provide financial support for the economic, education and community development activities and programs of the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce.

To promote and develop economic, civic, cultural, and social welfare of the citizens of Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties through educational programs.

To conduct programs and events to encourage business enterprise in Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.

To promote the use of new communications technologies by business, professional and education communities of Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.

To promote and support economic and community development through activities that organize or contribute to commerce in Louisa County Virginia and surrounding counties.

To do and perform all legal acts permitted nonprofit corporations necessary and/or convenient to accomplish the above stated purposes.

The Louisa Forward Foundation, in partnership with the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce and community business partners, launched Leadership Louisa designed to help build leaders and grow community.

The professional development program is a unique combination of relationship-building, learning, problem-solving, and community engagement for Louisa County business professionals.

The Chamber Challenge

The Louisa Forward Foundation and the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce will host THE CHAMBER CHALLENGE October 17, 2023, at Cutalong Golf Club. This event will provide funds to support the annual scholarship for Louisa County High School graduating seniors, the Legacy Campaign and further our mission to support local business and our community..

NONPROFIT COOPERATIVE

The Nonprofit Cooperative provides opportunities for nonprofit organizations to network and form collaborative relationships with for-profit chamber members. Recurring events include the annual Nonprofit Summit and grant writing classes.

Our half-day October nonprofit summit allows organizations and businesses the opportunity to come together, learn from each other, and collaborate. Standard topics include marketing, fundraising and resources.

Grant Writing Class is open to nonprofit organizations and businesses.  This two-part series will give every attendee a submittable grant upon completion on the class.

As of fall 2021, the Town of Louisa formally joined the Virginia Main Street network and became an Exploring Main Street community! The Louisa Forward Foundation will serve as the lead organization and focus on creating improved economic opportunity downtown and enhancing quality of life through community-driven revitalization efforts.
