The Louisa County Impact Awards celebrate the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations that have made a meaningful difference in the community. These awards honor those who exemplify giving back, exceptional volunteerism, and impactful contributions. It brings together community members and leaders for an inspiring celebration of the collective efforts that drive positive change and strengthen our community.

Nonprofit of the Year

Honoring organizational excellence, innovation, and sustainability

This award celebrates a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has demonstrated creativity in addressing community needs, strength in leadership and operations, and a deep commitment to its mission in Louisa County.

Nominees must show excellence across key areas such as volunteer and staff engagement, resource stewardship, and measurable impact during the most recent 12-month period (September – August).

Who is eligible?

501(c)(3) nonprofits based in or actively serving Louisa County.

Categories of organizations: nonprofit, government, faith-based, or educational organizations

Who can nominate?

Anyone—staff, board, volunteers, partners, or community members.

How is winner selected?

Judged by an independent panel based on impact, innovation, sustainability, and mission alignment.

Impact Program of the Year 

Recognizing programs that deliver measurable results and meet vital needs

This award honors a specific program or initiative—led by a nonprofit, school, faith-based, or government organization—that has made a significant, positive difference in the lives of Louisa County residents.

Nominees should highlight how the program was designed, what it achieved, and why it matters—demonstrating meaningful outcomes from most recent 12-month period (September – August)

Who is eligible?

Programs run by nonprofits, schools, faith-based, or government organizations serving Louisa County.

Who can nominate?

Anyone—nominations may be submitted for multiple different programs.

How is winner selected?

Judged by an independent panel based on program design, outcomes, community need, and innovation.

Nonprofit Leader of the Year 

Celebrating leadership that drives mission and inspires others

This award honors an individual whose leadership—whether as paid staff or a dedicated volunteer—has strengthened their organization and advanced its mission in Louisa County. Eligible roles include Executive Directors, Program Managers, Board Chairs, Founders, and key volunteer leaders.

Nominees should reflect the qualities of vision, accountability, collaboration, and tangible results during the most recent 12 months period (September – August).

Who is eligible?

Nonprofit leaders (paid or volunteer) serving Louisa County, including Executive Directors, Board Chairs, and key volunteer leaders.

Who can nominate?

Anyone—staff, board, volunteers, partners, or community members.

How is winner selected?

Judged by an independent panel based on leadership impact, collaboration, innovation, and results.

Recognizing Outstanding Partners Who Elevate Your Mission

Community Partner Honor Roll

The Community Partner Honor Roll offers nonprofit organizations in Louisa County a meaningful way to recognize an outstanding partner who has significantly contributed to their mission. This is a non-judged recognition, submitted exclusively by nonprofits, allowing them to publicly honor individuals, businesses, or organizations whose support has been instrumental to their success.

Whether through in-kind or financial contributions, volunteer service, or collaborative partnerships, these honorees exemplify the power of community-driven impact. This recognition highlights the essential role that strong partnerships play in advancing nonprofit work and fostering a thriving Louisa County.

Who is eligible?

Businesses, individuals, civic groups, or organizations—inside or outside of Louisa County—with a demonstrated impact on a local nonprofit.

Who can submit?

Nonprofits, schools, government agencies, or faith-based organizations serving Louisa County (one submission per organization).

How are they Recognized?

Honorees are added to the official Community Partner Honor Roll and celebrated at the Louisa County Impact Awards Celebration.

Community Service Awards

Louisa County Impact Award Winners will be submitted for nomination each spring.

The Governor’s Volunteerism & Community Service Awards recognize Virginians who serve across the Commonwealth. These awards recognize some of the millions of generous Virginians who offer their time and talents to others each year. It spotlights the ways that dedication, innovation, and generosity can improve life for all Virginians. Selected honorees are recognized by the Governor and invited to an awards ceremony at the Executive Mansion. All nominees will be recognized on the Serve Virginia Honor Roll.
