October 21 | Created by All of Us: Love Our Community Mural Reveal
4:00–6:30 PM | 310 W. Main Street, Louisa | FREE
October 21 will bring hundreds of individual contributions together to tell one Louisa story.
More than 450 Louisa County Public Schools students, along with businesses, organizations, volunteers and residents, painted individual tiles for the Love Our Community Mural. This month, those tiles become a permanent piece of public art in downtown Louisa.
The mural is part of Louisa’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and reflects a simple idea: our community’s story isn’t created by one person or organization. It is Created by All of Us.
Business + Education + Community
The project itself is an example of community partnership.
Amazon provided funding to help make the project possible. Clark Technologies provided project oversight and worked alongside Louisa County Public Schools Career & Technical Education students as the individual tiles were assembled into the completed mural. LCPS art students created hundreds of the tiles, while residents, businesses and organizations added their own contributions. The Pivotal Insurance provided the property location for the mural, giving the finished work a permanent home on Main Street.
The celebration also falls during LCPS Kindness Month and on Support Your Local Chamber Day, making October 21 a fitting opportunity to recognize what becomes possible when businesses, schools, organizations and residents work together.
If you painted a tile, please arrive by 5:00 PM for the official reveal and remarks. Afterward, we’ll gather everyone who helped create the mural for our Created by All of Us group photo.
Then take some time to enjoy downtown Louisa, visit our Main Street businesses and celebrate a project that will remain part of the community for years to come.
Project Partners: Amazon • Clark Technologies • Louisa County Public Schools Arts Department & Career & Technical Education • The Pivotal Insurance • Louisa County • Louisa Forward Foundation • Louisa County Chamber of Commerce
